Integrated into the Maoré Garden , the Lagon Maoré diving club takes you on a discovery of the southern lagoon of Mayotte.
The magnificent spots offer very rich exploration dives: the coral gardens abound with multicolored fish and turtles.
Our team of qualified instructors, all passionate about their profession, supervises groups of divers of all levels…
Exploring in space from 0 to 50 m in air and Nitrox and 50 to 70 m in trimix
Drift dives on the great barrier.
On the drop offs of the barrier passes (20 to 40 minutes by boat), these outings are dedicated to experienced divers, with at least Level 1 or Open Water.
From the south of the Bateau pass to Morne Rouge, the clear waters are full of fish:
Besides the coral fauna, you will encounter barracudas, rays, dolphins, turtles, and if you are lucky, small reef sharks.
A current check is carried out by our instructors before launching, to guarantee your total safety.
Diving in the lagoon.
From 5 to 10 minutes by boat, these outings on the coral gardens of the lagoon are open to everyone, from baptism to confirmed diver.
They are ideal for making your first bubbles, for taking courses or for advanced training.
Coral reefs start from the surface and go down to 20-25 meters. During these dives, we observe corals, gorgonians, small reef fauna, turtles and sometimes dolphins…
The “tek” dive
The person in charge of the center is a TDI instructor on this brand of rebreather and can train you in this other way of diving by teaching you how to use its machines.
Certified in trimix diving and having the qualifications to organize these dives, he offers you to discover this unknown area from 60 to 120 meters during exploration dives in a rebreather on sites.
DIVE IN COMPLETE SAFETY
Safety is, for us, a fundamental basis and an omnipresent leitmotif for this exciting activity in a breathtaking setting with its biodiversity, but which nevertheless remains a risky activity where zero risk does not exist.
The dives are supervised by passionate, qualified (State Diplomas) and experienced professional instructors, in compliance with the regulations set by the sports code relating to scuba diving, under the responsibility of the Diving Director.
In addition, the instructors hold international qualifications (SSI SDI TDI) and many specialties necessary for good practice in specific environments (Nitrox, drifting, deep, wreck, night, biology, confirmed Nitrox, trimix rebreather, etc.).
An omnipresent surface safety is ensured by a qualified sailor during all the dives both in the lagoon and in the passes or the outer reefs.
The currents are systematically checked by putting an instructor in the water beforehand, during dives in the passes.
By choice, we limit the deep dives in autonomy to 40m, to keep the explorations of space 50-70m for the use of the Trimix.
The safety equipment (pharmacy and oxygen therapy) is ready to use, checked daily and operated by our staff who are up to date with the necessary refresher courses in terms of first aid.
The safety blocks on board (Air, Nitrox 32 Nitrox 70) are equipped and always ready to be deployed if necessary.
A defibrillator (DSA) is stationed at the hotel.
The hospital’s decompression chamber and helicopter means are on standby in Mayotte, ready to intervene in the event of a decompression accident.
The center is insured in RC structure and we recommend that each of our divers take out individual insurance through the intermediary of the federal license or the insurer DiveAssure which offers weekly or annual insurance.
To complete this constant concern for safety, the equipment at Lagon Maoré allows you to dive:
With Nitrox 32 without supplement, essential for successive dives (double-block exits), distant exits.
Nitrox 26 for deep dives to 50 meters,
With 2 mixtures which allows the reduction of bearing times thanks to mixtures > 50% (advanced Nitrox qualification required)
With Normoxic Trimix (02 > 18%) to explore drop offs between 50 and 70 meters, accompanied by a super-oxygenated Nitrox mixture (>50%) to improve decompression (Normoxic Trimix + advanced Nitrox qualification required)
In closed Rebreather (Rebreather qualification required) which allows an optimization of the decompression beyond the exceptional approach of the phone that allows diving without bubble.
PLEASE ENSURE YOU TRAVEL WITH YOUR DIVE CARDS AND LOG BOOKS ETC TO SHOW YOUR EXPERIENCE LEVELS AND CERTIFICATIONS – YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO DIVE WITHOUT THIS.
