Picturesque accommodation in the heart of the Piton de la Fournaise

Perched at an altitude of 2,240 meters, our gîte is located in the heart of Réunion’s volcanic landscape and 600 meters from the starting point for the ascent of Piton de la Fournaise, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Here, adventure awaits.

Sustainable autonomy: respect and responsibility

In this unspoiled setting, everything functions thanks to the forces of nature:

  • Electricity: produced by a stand-alone photovoltaic system.
  • Hot water: generated by our solar panels for showers and underfloor heating.
  • Non-potable water: sourced from rainwater collected on site.

However, this self-sufficiency has its limits. We encourage you to use water and electricity responsibly:

  • Laundry detergent is banned to preserve our resources.
  • Showers are limited to 5 minutes: a token system has been implemented to manage water, which does not necessarily guarantee a hot shower. (solar)
  • Charging of electronic devices: possible depending on weather conditions and our opening hours.
  • No pets allowed

Important information

Please note that our establishment is a mountain lodge, not a hotel . Therefore, you will benefit from services specific to this type of accommodation:

  • Double rooms (with or without private bathrooms), quadruple rooms, and dormitories: their capacity is limited to the number of people booked. Additional guests are not permitted. Reservations will be cancelled if this rule is not followed.
